FAQ
Questions we get asked.
The questions that come up most, answered the way we would answer them on a call. If yours isn’t here, ask us: we reply within one business day.
What we do
What exactly does AuraLith Labs do?
We review how a business actually runs: the workflows, the day to day, and the software already in use. Then we build exactly what is needed, with whatever API integrations that takes. That comes back as AI agents doing the work nobody has time for, content tools built to your brand, a better website, or custom software, and we host and manage what we build if you want us to. Our proof domain is nine years in auction and resale software.
Are you an agency or a dev shop?
Neither. AuraLith Labs is a practice of solutions architects who work inside a business across product, process, and delivery. We don’t compete with anyone’s engineering team: we find the friction, prototype the fixes, and build the part that doesn’t exist yet. The advice is builder to builder, because we write software ourselves rather than specs about it.
Do you offer consulting?
Not as a service on its own. What was sold as consulting is now the first half of software discovery and switchover: we work out which software you should be running and give you the answer, and you can buy that on its own if the answer is all you need. Every engagement still starts with a scoping call and a fixed-scope proposal before any work begins.
Do you build a website or site? Do you offer hosting?
Yes. We design, build, and publish websites, and where you want it we handle hosting and manage the domain for you as well. A website build is one of the things we’re asked for most. One client wanted a simple online presence and had it published within a day.
Can you build custom software for us?
Yes. Custom builds are written from the terminal, not assembled in an AI-wrapped app builder or a drag-and-drop generator. Code is stored locally while we work and transferred to a repository of your choice once you’re happy with it, and you own the final deliverables once the engagement is paid in full.
Do you offer marketing?
Not as a service. What we build is an AI content tool configured to your brand, your audience and how you sound: your team types a short brief, who it’s for and what it’s about, and gets content back. We build it and hand it over, and you run it. We don’t run campaigns, place advertising, or fund media on your behalf.
Can you review our product?
Yes. If you sell software, we go through it the way your clients will, find where it fights them, and prototype the UX and UI fixes. The same review works on a business that only uses software: we go through the tools you’re paying for and find where the process breaks. It’s builder to builder either way, from someone who ships software rather than someone reading a checklist.
Can you help with operations, SOPs, or AI implementation?
Yes. We learn how your business actually runs, especially when things are changing, like mid-acquisition, then build the SOPs and workflows, stand up AI agents, and train your staff until the knowledge lives with your team, not with us.
Can you help us evaluate a tool switch?
Yes. Weighing a switch, say Google Workspace to Outlook, but nobody has time to figure out what it involves? We do the discovery, give you our findings straight, and implement it when you decide.
Pricing and scoping
How does pricing work? What does it cost?
Every engagement begins with a scoping call and a fixed-scope proposal (deliverables, timeline, and the number) before any work starts, so you know what it costs before you commit. Your proposal states exactly what's included.
How much could we save?
A single mid-market hire for this work runs $58,000 to $98,000 a year before payroll tax and benefits. Our engagements are fixed-scope, with a proposal that states exactly what is included, so the comparison is usually not close.
What does an engagement look like?
A scoping call (up to two hours, as deep as the engagement needs), then a fixed-scope proposal (deliverables, timeline, and price) before any work begins. From there, one accountable person designs and runs the work from kickoff to go-live. Your proposal states exactly what is included.
How long is the scoping call?
Up to two hours, as deep as the engagement in front of you needs to go. You get a fixed-scope proposal shortly after.
How we build
Do you build with AI app builders?
No. We don't use AI-wrapped products or interfaces to build. All code is written from the terminal, stored locally while we work, and transferred to a repository of your choice once you're happy with it. Secure, reviewable, and yours.
How fast can you prototype?
We're obsessed with rapid prototyping: a working prototype in days, not quarters, so you and your clients react to something real and the scope sharpens before the big build spends a dollar.
What does customer onboarding for B2B software involve?
Five steps, typically: discovery of how the client works today, migrating their data, configuring the product around their operation, training their staff, and supporting go-live through stabilization. Done well, it’s the difference between a signed contract and a client who actually uses the product. Software companies hire us to run exactly this under their brand.
How does a platform migration work without downtime?
The old system stays live while records are extracted, cleaned, deduplicated, and loaded into the new platform in staged passes. A final sync moves whatever changed during the transition, and the cutover happens at a quiet moment with a rollback path, so day-to-day operations never stop.
What happens at go-live?
We don't hand off at deployment. We stay through go-live and stabilization, then hand back with documentation your team can maintain, plus structured feedback on where clients consistently snag, the things support tickets never quite tell you.
Why not just hire an implementation person?
Because this kind of work is lumpy. Four clients sign in March and none in April, or one build lands and the next need is six months out: a full-time hire is either underwater or idle, and you’re paying either way. Per-engagement scoping means you pay for the work when you have it.
Who we work with
Can you work under our brand?
Yes. Your email domain, your documentation, your name in front of the client, from kickoff through go-live, or introduced as a named partner instead. Your call. We already do this for a private-label CRM platform, and under-your-brand engagements are never referenced with your name or your clients' names.
Can we hire you for just the delivery half?
Yes. Partners can hand off at the signature and we take it from there. Delivery (discovery through go-live) is open to every engagement.
What platforms have you actually done this on?
Auction platform migrations across Auction Flex and HiBid. CRM implementations on Salesforce, HubSpot, and private-label CRM products. Resale marketplaces too: eBay, Facebook Marketplace, Poshmark, Depop, and Vinted. Data cleaning and migration between systems, including full record sets moved without downtime.
Do you work with local businesses in Ocala, or only software companies?
Any business, wherever it sits. We’re based in Ocala, Florida, and serve businesses across the United States. What defines a client is the need, not the category: a website that does no work, software that almost fits, busywork eating the week, or nobody owning the thing once it’s running. Software companies hire us for the same work their clients do, and that’s one need among several rather than a separate company.
What industries do you know?
We work with any business. A shop, a clinic, a contractor, a software company. Auctions and resale are nine years of our history, including platform moves on Auction Flex and HiBid, rather than the boundary of who we take on.
What does a delivery partner do?
A delivery partner runs your product's onboarding, data migration, configuration, and training under your brand, so your clients experience it as your own team. You keep the client relationship and the revenue; the partner supplies the people and the process.
Do you work with partners outside the United States?
Not currently. AuraLith Labs serves businesses located and operating in the United States. Our shop products are sold to buyers in the United States only.
Who runs AuraLith Labs?
AuraLith Labs, based in Florida, serving businesses across the United States. Nine years in auction software. The auction industry is where we come from, and we proudly serve auctioneers, liquidators, and resellers.
How fast do you respond?
Email or message gets a reply within one business day: no ticket system, no account manager, no runaround.
Shop and digital products
Can I just buy something and use it today?
Yes. Four finished apps are in our shop: a consignment desk, a reseller tracker, a trade show planner, and a marketing planner. You download the file at checkout and it runs in your browser, with no account and nothing to install. Each one is also a starting point: we customize it around how your team works, add user logins, put it behind a paywall if you sell access, and host and manage it for you.
Do I need an account to buy from the shop?
No. You pay at checkout, your download link is emailed to you, and it works for 30 days. The file runs in your browser with nothing to install. Tax is added at checkout where it applies.
Can I get a refund on a digital product?
Digital products are instant access, so there are no refunds. If anything is wrong with the file we will fix it. Each purchase is one license for you or your business, and what you make with it is yours; reselling or sharing the file is not permitted. The full digital product terms are on the Terms page.
Data and confidentiality
Is our data confidential?
Yes. Everything shared in an engagement is kept confidential and protected. We never sell your data and never share it beyond what delivering the work requires. It’s written into our terms, not just our pitch.
